Fun Family Session { Gainesville Family Photographer}

Climbing Trees, fishing in the coi pond, chasing peacocks and eating suckers by the lake…what more can a girl ask for in a session?  SO much fun!  This family was a blast to hang with…laid back, funny, Super Duper Sweet, and totally chilled.  That is the way I like it.  These two little monkeys were pros at climbing trees, and making silly faces.  I love their chemistry together.  I think it totally shows!!! :)

Summer Fun Food {Tasty Tuesday}

Well, that FAVORITE time of year has rolled around.  Carpools are almost done, lunches will cease to be made at the crack of dawn, and children can finally sleep in some.:)  Let SUMMERTIME begin!!!  Although we won’t have to make lunches to send to school, we will still have to feed our litte boogers, so I thought it would b fun to feature some fun Summer food for our kiddos. :)

Peanut Butter & Honey Lego Lunch Sandwiches

5 slices soft whole wheat bread (or desired sandwich bread of choice)

peanut butter

honey

1. Make two peanut butter and honey sandwiches with 4 of the bread slices. Cut off the crusts and cut the sandwiches into 2 x 3-inch rectangles.

2. With the remaining piece of bread cut out small circles to serve as the top of the lego. I used an apple corer, it makes perfect circles! Swipe the bottom of each circle with a little bit of peanut butter and press them gently on top of the bread. Serve!

Babble

Cute, Cute, Cute!!!!

Ice Cream Cone Sandwich

I love this little sandwich!  The colors of bread, simple ham and cheese filling, and veggie sprinkles on top!

What fun!  Makes me want to eat a sandwich!

What, What!!! A Donut Sandwich!!!

The Donut Sandwich

I’m just gonna go ahead and tell you that if there was EVER a sandwich I would eat (and I don’t typically) THIS would be it!!!  Peanut Butter and Jelly, Sprinkles, AND in the shape of a Donut.  I am in Sandwich heaven!!!

Displays, Storage, and Organization { Fabulous Friday}

So, I have been TRYING, this being the operative word, to change my children’s playroom into an office/viewing room for my clients.  I want this space to be classy, chic, and functional.  I am some days at a loss with what I want to do with the space.  I am working on adding displays to the space as well, so in my search, I decided to share some ideas with you all, as some or most of you probably have an ongoing struggle with all of the above…Displays, Storage and Organization. :)

Such a smart idea…not sure about in my closet, but LOVE that it is hidden.  We have some kind of device being charged all the time and it can be an eye sore when you have company coming over.  Kindles, Ipads and Phones…OH MY!

 This jewelry drawer organization is wonderful for two reasons…if you are like me and don’t really have room where your jewelry lives to hang one of those beautiful jewelry frames, then this is perfect, AND this insert can be used for many other items…such as small supplies for your home office, in your children’s drawers for barrettes, hair clips, etc.  Or for all of those tiny little DS/Leapster Games.  We are notorious for losing those little items.  My point is you can use this for many other things besides jewelry!

LOVE this wall display!!!  That is a struggle for me so many times beacuse I want it to be perfect!  I love this one because the TV blends, and the photos are all like prints, as well as same color.  There is nothing better than a Black and White display.

Of course you know I dig these book shelves and their display.  I love old and new photos together.  I think there is nothing better than displaying your family and friends..past and present.  It is conversational, timeless, and holds so many memories!!!

Finally…childrens rt work, special art pieces, or artwork from yourself…no matter the signifigance, I love the color this displays, that you can mix and match vertical and horizontal, and use “real” artwork and children’s together.  Lovely!!!

I hope you all have a FANTABULOUS Mother’s Day!  Spoil your Mama’s and be Spoiled!!!

Much love

XOXO

Mother’s Day Breakfast {Tasty Tuesday}

What a special day Mother’s Day is for not only a Mama herself, but to honor her own Mother.  I love this day..though there never seems to be enough words or time to express just how important and special my own Mom is to me.  My own little babies decided they wanted to make me breakfast in bed this year, they are 7 and 4 this year, so it only seems right to them to treat Mommy.  I’m game! :)

I thought it was fitting to share some breakfast in bed ideas for your little ones with you…maybe you could drop a few hints…to the Hubs! :)

Delish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup(s) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon(s) sugar
  • 2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup(s) milk
  • 2 tablespoon(s) unsalted butter, melted, plus more for sauteing banana slices
  • 2  bananas, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch-thick rounds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees F. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Add egg, milk, and butter; whisk until combined but still slightly lumpy.
  2. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place 5 banana rounds in pan, about 3 inches apart. Spoon one tablespoon batter over each; cook until large bubbles cover surface, 1 to 2 minutes. Flip, and cook until bottom is golden, about 1 minute more. Transfer to a baking sheet, and keep warm in the oven.
  3. Repeat with remaining banana rounds and batter. Saute extra banana slices in butter until golden; serve with pancakes.

Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring
2 small tubes refrigerator buttermilk biscuits OR 1 tube Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 C. pancake syrup (any brand you like, I used Mrs. Buttersworth)
1/3 C. packed light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 C. chopped pecans, optional
1/4 C. chopped almonds, optional
Instructions:
Spray a fluted pan with non-stick spray. Combine the melted butter and syrup in a small bowl and set aside. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if desired). Place about half of the syrup mixture in the bottom of the pan. Then sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture on top. Lay the biscuits on the bottom of the pan, overlapping edges (closely together) to form a ring. Top with remaining syrup and sugar mixtures. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 1 minute in the pan, then invert onto a serving platter and enjoy!
** I ended up using 1 1/2 tubes of the Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits (1 tube didn’t seem like enough) and baked it for about 30 minutes. It needed a bit longer to bake since I used more.

 The Gracious Pantry

Clean Eating Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal
(Makes 4 servings)

(Note: the egg whites were my addition in order to get more protein. They are optional.)

Ingredients
1 cup dry oats, cooked
1/2 cup pumpkin purée
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice (no sugar added)
4 egg whites (optional)
1/4 cup pecans per serving
Maple syrup to taste

Directions

Step 1 – Cook the oats according to package directions.

Step 2 – In the last 5 minutes of cooking (just take a guess, the oats should basically be pretty much done cooking), quickly stir in the eggs, being sure to stir vigorously so they get well-distributed. Then, stir in the pumpkin purée and pumpkin spice.

Step 3 – Put some oats in a bowl and top with pecans and maple syrup.

Eat and Enjoy!

No matter if you treat your Mama to Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or Dinner…just spending the day with her is enough.

 Love your Mama’s deeply, madly, unconditionally…that is how they love US!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing Mama’s out there!

Much love!

Steph
